“People begin to heal when they feel heard. ” – Cheryl Brown

One Christmas season it had rained a lot. I attempted to circle my yard with my car to slide out of my drive way, and I got stuck. The more I tried to get out the more stuck I became. I called my children out of their sleep to help me get Prianasha ( my Prius V) out of the mud. I was adamant I was not going to call a tow truck. Finally, I had to do what I was dreading and call a tow truck to get me out of my own yard!

When he came and pulled me out, I looked behind me and there were deep grooves not only in my yard, The grooves were in my neighbors yard too. Uggghhhh! Well, sometimes in life, we get stuck in our own mud, and we have to call help to get us out.

Born and raised on the southern coast of North Carolina, I am a mom, a daughter, a sister, an auntie , and a friend. I love spending time with my tribe. They would probably say that my favorite things to do are travel, eat seafood, and drag them to aquariums!  It’s true!

I have been stuck many of times…and not just in the mud. Life can be that way.
